Passenger services at Málaga Airport: what is there and where to find it

This page is a locator for the passenger services at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport: what exists, which floor it is on and, where Aena says so, whether you reach it before or after security. Everything here comes from Aena, the airport operator, checked on 9 October 2026. Where Aena does not publish a location, price or opening time, we say so rather than guess. Detailed guides to lounges, Fast Lane, food, shops, Wi-Fi, baggage, security, customs, lost property and special assistance are linked below.

Quick answer

Málaga Airport is one connected terminal: arrivals on Floor 0, check-in and departures on Floor 1, an upper boarding level on Floor 2, and the bus station and car-hire zone on Floor -1. Aena runs four information desks, two of them on Floor 1 and two on Floor 0. The pharmacy is on Floor 1 before security; after security there is only a pharmacy vending machine. Left luggage exists, run by an outside company on (+34) 653 444 747, but Aena does not publish where it is or what it costs.

Practical information

Terminal

One connected passenger terminal; T1, T2 and T3 survive only as zone names on signs.

Information

Four Aena desks (Floor 1 x2, Floor 0 x2); Aena line (+34) 913 211 000.

Pharmacy

Floor 1, before security; 07:00-21:00, weekends and holidays 08:00-20:00 (checked 9 October 2026).

Left luggage

Outside operator, 08:00-20:00, (+34) 653 444 747; location and price not published.

Lost property

Floor 1, check-in area, opposite desk 380, before security.

Family room

140 m² nursing and family room after security, Floor 1, between zones B and C; free.

Smoking

One designated smoking area, Floor 0, before security; none published after security.

One terminal, five levels

Málaga Airport has one connected passenger terminal. The names T1, T2 and T3 belong to older buildings and survive on signs and in product names ("T3 filter", "baggage reclaim T2"), but they are zones of the same building. You never need to travel between terminals.

  • Floor 0 - Arrivals: baggage reclaim, arrivals hall, taxis, train access, tourist offices.
  • Floor 1 - Check-in and departures: check-in desks, security, the main boarding area with piers B, C and D.
  • Floor 2: upper boarding level after security, with more gates, shops and the VIP lounge.
  • Floor E: an intermediate level after security with gates for boarding by bus.
  • Floor -1: the bus station and the car-hire desks.

Aena's app includes indoor wayfinding with point-to-point routes, which is the quickest way to find a specific desk. Aena recommends arriving 2 hours before domestic and Schengen flights and 3 hours before non-Schengen flights (for example to the UK), and asks passengers who must go through passport control to head for the boarding area as soon as their gate appears on the screens.

Information, help and lost property

Aena information desks

  • Floor 1, opposite the security checkpoints (before security).
  • Floor 1, boarding area D (after security).
  • Floor 0, baggage reclaim hall.
  • Floor 0, arrivals hall.

Aena's general information line is (+34) 913 211 000. Aena does not publish a named, signposted meeting point at Málaga, so agree a specific place (for example the arrivals-hall information desk) with whoever is meeting you.

Support Office for Passengers

Aena's Support Office for Passengers, Users and Customers is on Floor 1, in the check-in area; telephone (+34) 952 048 837 / (+34) 952 048 851. It is also the office that opens the chapel and multi-faith room on request. Official complaint forms (hojas de reclamación) are available at the airport's passenger information point.

Tourist information

Two separate offices, both in the Floor 0 arrivals hall: the Málaga city council tourist office ([email protected]) and the Andalusian regional government office ((+34) 951 294 003 / (+34) 951 294 004, [email protected]).

Lost property

Aena's lost property office is on Floor 1, in the check-in area, opposite check-in desk 380, before security and before passport control. You report an item with Aena's online request form; if it is found you get a registration number, and you collect it with your ID (or with written authorisation if someone else collects). The service is free and items are not sent by post. Telephone (+34) 913 211 000. Aena does not publish the office's opening hours. Full process: lost property at Málaga Airport. A bag that never came off the carousel is different: report it to your airline's handling desk before you leave the reclaim hall (see baggage).

Do these before security

Several useful services are only on the public (landside) side. Once you are through security you cannot come back for them.

  • Pharmacy: Floor 1, departures, before security. See health and pharmacy.
  • VAT refund: the DIVA kiosks and the receipt-stamping office are on Floor 1 in the check-in area at desks 363-386. Validate before you check in the goods, as you may be asked to show them. Details on our customs page.
  • Baggage scales: at the check-in desk banks, so you can check your bag against your airline's limit before the desk does.
  • Baggage wrapping: Floor 1, check-in area. Aena's luggage page gives 07:00-20:30, but Aena's own airport map shows the wrapping points as temporarily closed (both checked 9 October 2026). Do not count on it.
  • Bicycle assembly stations: two, on Floor 0 and Floor 1, both before security, for boxing or unboxing a bike. Aena publishes no hours or fee.
  • Mailbox: Aena publishes a mailbox for last-minute post on Floor 1, before security. That is the only postal facility Aena lists at the airport.
  • Smoking: the one designated smoking area Aena publishes is on Floor 0, before security, at the western end of the building. Aena publishes no smoking area after security, and smoking and vaping are banned elsewhere in the airport.

Money: ATMs, currency exchange and tax-free refunds

Euronet ATM and Global Exchange currency exchange and tax-free desk at Málaga Airport

ATMs: Euronet cash machines are in the arrivals hall on Floor 0 and in departures on Floor 1. Aena lists no bank branch at the airport.

Currency exchange: Global Exchange has four counters. Opening hours as published by Aena, checked 9 October 2026:

  • National arrivals, Floor 0: 07:30-23:30
  • International arrivals, Floor 0: 07:00-22:10
  • Pier D, Floor 1 (boarding area): 05:15-22:50
  • Piers B-C, Floor 1 (boarding area): 05:00-21:00

Aena lists Global Exchange for currency exchange and tax-free refunds. Check the hours on Aena's website before relying on a late counter.

VAT refund: validate your tax-free forms at the DIVA kiosks or the stamping office on Floor 1, desks 363-386, before security and before you check in the goods.

Health, pharmacy, emergencies and police

  • Pharmacy (Farmacia): Floor 1, departures, before security. Open 07:00-21:00; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 08:00-20:00 (Aena, checked 9 October 2026). Telephone (+34) 952 048 553.
  • After security: there is no pharmacy counter, only a pharmacy and parapharmacy vending machine on Floor 1 with hygiene products, baby food, first-aid items and personal care. Buy medicines before security.
  • Medical service: Floor 0, arrivals. Telephone (+34) 952 048 112, for emergencies only. Aena does not publish opening hours.
  • Defibrillators: Aena has "Cardiac Rescue Points" with defibrillators throughout the terminal and in the car parks.
  • Policía Nacional: Floor 0, "External terminal"; telephone 952 231 620.
  • Guardia Civil: Floor 1, check-in area; telephone (+34) 951 462 295 (national number 062). The Guardia Civil firearms control desk is also in the check-in area, (+34) 951 462 296.
  • Customs: in the baggage reclaim hall on Floor 0. Arriving from outside the EU, you must declare items such as certain food, high-value goods and cash over €10,000; see customs.

Families and children

Nursing and family room. One of the most complete in Aena's network: a 140 m² room after security on Floor 1, between zones B and C, free of charge and reserved for families with babies and small children. You enter through a video intercom. It has four separate spaces: a dining area with tables, microwaves and a sink; a breastfeeding area with sofas, adjustable lighting and privacy curtains; toilets with a nappy-changing area, bathing board and baby seats; and a toddler area with toys and a cork floor.

  • Play areas: Aena lists children's play areas on Floors 0, 1 and 2, both before security (for example at the check-in desk banks) and after it (piers B, C and D).
  • Interactive game screens: Aena lists interactive video-game screens for children on Floor 1 at the start of pier C and on Floor 2.
  • Free pushchairs: available on Floor 1 in the passenger-only (after-security) area.
  • Family toilet and baby changing: Aena confirms a family toilet and baby-changing rooms.

Travelling as a family? Aena has said Málaga has a security lane for families and passengers with reduced mobility; see accessibility below and our security guide.

Accessibility and hidden disabilities

Aena's free Barrier Free assistance service helps passengers with reduced mobility or other needs through the airport, on departure and on arrival. Our special assistance guide explains how to request it and where the meeting points are.

  • Accessible toilets: Aena lists accessible toilets in the terminal, and toilets for people with an ostomy on Floors 0, 1 and -1.
  • Silent Lounge: a quiet room for passengers with hidden disabilities, after security on Floor 1. To use it, go to the airport's passenger service (servicio de atención al pasajero); access is subject to availability.
  • Hidden-disabilities badge: Málaga is on Aena's list of airports that issue it. The badge does not entitle you to Fast Lane, to accompaniment or to exemption from any procedure.
  • Family and reduced-mobility security lane: Aena has said Málaga has a security lane for families and passengers with reduced mobility, and the hidden-disabilities badge is intended to give the holder and their companions access to it. Aena does not publish where it is or when it is open, so ask at the Barrier Free desk or show the badge at the filter and ask; staff will direct you.

Left luggage, trolleys and baggage reclaim

Left luggage

There is a left-luggage service at Málaga Airport, run by an outside company, SECURITY SYSTEM PLASTIC PROTECTION, S.L., open 08:00-20:00 and reachable on (+34) 653 444 747 or [email protected] (as published by Aena, checked 9 October 2026). Aena does not publish where the counter is or what it costs, and it is not shown on Aena's airport map. Call before you rely on it, ask where to meet, and confirm the price, especially if you arrive outside those hours. The same company also offers a baggage transport service.

Trolleys, scales and reclaim

  • Trolleys are spread across the terminal, the reclaim halls, the train station access, the car-hire zone and the car parks. Aena does not say whether they are free or need a coin.
  • Baggage scales at the check-in banks and elsewhere show the limits set by each airline; they do not accept or tag bags.
  • Reclaim: carousels are on Floor 0. Aena's standing instruction is that baggage checked in outside the EU comes out on carousels 31-34.
  • Missing or damaged bag: report it at your airline's or handling agent's desk in the reclaim hall before you leave. See baggage.

After security: work, rest, charging and prayer

  • Work areas: desks with points for charging electronic devices, all after security: Floor 0 near gates D, Floor 1 at gates B and C, and on Floor 2.
  • Rest areas: in modules B, C and D, with seats that have charging points, relaxation chairs and children's areas.
  • Charging your phone: device charging is published only as part of the work and rest areas. Málaga is not on Aena's list of airports with dedicated battery-charging points, and socket types are not published, so carry a power bank.
  • Drinking water: Aena lists drinking fountains at Málaga, so you can bring an empty bottle through security and fill it.
  • Book exchange: Floor 1, after security, on the way to pier B. Take a book or leave one.
  • Fitness area: after security on Floor 1. Aena's own pages describe its position differently (near pier D on one, the start of boarding area C on another), so follow the signs.
  • Lounge: the VIP Lounge Costa del Sol is open, on Floor 2 after security; the Relax & Go lounge is currently closed. See lounges.

Chapel and multi-faith rooms

  • Chapel: Floor 0, arrivals hall, entered from the public area. Opened on request: call the Support Office on (+34) 952 048 837.
  • Multi-faith room 1: Floor 0, arrivals hall, in the public area; also opened on request on the same number.
  • Multi-faith room 2: Floor 1, after security, open 24 hours, for prayer and meditation.

Electric-car charging is a different thing

There are electric-vehicle charging bays at the terminal for cars. Aena publishes no connector type, power, operator or price, so check the units on site and do not plan a charge around them. Charging anywhere other than a designated point is prohibited, and occupying a charging bay without charging can get the car towed. See parking.

Other services and what Aena does not list

Not listed by Aena at Málaga (as of 9 October 2026; this means Aena does not publish them, not that nothing exists nearby): an airport hotel, a bank branch, a smoking area after security, showers in the public terminal, a pet relief area and a photo booth.

Travel tips

  • Buy medicines before security: the pharmacy is on Floor 1 landside, and after security there is only a vending machine.
  • If you smoke, do it before check-in: the only published smoking area is on Floor 0, before security.
  • Ring the left-luggage operator on (+34) 653 444 747 before you arrive; Aena does not publish where the counter is or the price.
  • Flying outside the EU and back? Your bags come out on carousels 31-34.
  • Bring an empty water bottle through security and fill it at a drinking fountain.
  • Need to work? The work areas with charging points are all after security, so clear security early.
  • Use the Aena app's indoor maps to find a desk quickly.
