Meet & Assist at Málaga Airport: Aena's paid escort service
Meet & Assist is a paid service sold by Aena, the airport operator, at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport: an agent meets you at an agreed point and accompanies you through the airport on departure, arrival or transit, with priority access to security and use of the VIP lounge on departure. It is a convenience product for anyone willing to pay. It is not the free assistance for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, which is a legal right. This page sets out the price, how booking works, Aena's purchase conditions (validity, cancellation, withdrawal, lateness) and what the service does not include. We are an independent guide, not Aena.
Yes. Aena sells Meet & Assist at Málaga Airport from EUR 149.45 per adult (from EUR 186.81 for an unaccompanied minor) when we checked on 9 October 2026. You must buy it at least 72 hours before your flight; Aena then confirms availability and its agents phone you to agree the meeting point. The service generally lasts up to three hours. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead, or the service counts as provided and nothing is refunded. If you need help because of a disability or reduced mobility, use the free assistance service instead.

What Meet & Assist is
Meet & Assist is a personal meet-and-greet and escort service run by Aena. Aena lists Málaga-Costa del Sol among the airports where it is sold and has a dedicated Málaga page for it. An agent meets you at a point agreed in advance and accompanies you through the airport process on departure, arrival or transit.
Anyone can buy it; there is no eligibility condition beyond holding a valid ticket. It suits people who want company and guidance through an unfamiliar airport, a first-time flyer, or a family who would like someone to steer them through. Aena publishes a single Meet & Assist service at Málaga, not separate departure, arrival and transit products.
Two governing documents apply: Aena's General conditions of purchase of Meet & Assist and the Rules of use for the Meet & Assist service. Both are linked from Aena's Málaga page and are Aena network-wide terms.
What is included
Aena's Málaga page lists:
- Meet and greet, exclusive service and passenger escort
- Assistance and accompaniment during check-in
- Accompaniment during customs and immigration checks
- Priority access to the security checkpoints (Fast Lane)
- Use of Aena's VIP lounge and its services
- Accompaniment during baggage collection
- Information and assistance during transits and flight connections
- Farewell and assistance at transfer and transport services
Fast Lane. Aena's conditions say the purchase includes the Fast service where the airport has it, subject to the Fast Lane conditions. See our fast-track page.
VIP lounge. On departures and transits the purchase includes use of the VIP lounge, subject to the lounge conditions. Aena does not name a lounge in the Meet & Assist terms; the lounge currently open at Málaga is the Costa del Sol lounge on Floor 2, as the other Aena lounge there is temporarily closed. Lounge entry depends on capacity: Aena reserves the right to refuse any of the VIP lounges for reasons of seating numbers, so treat it as included subject to space, not guaranteed. The agent stays with you throughout, except while you are in the lounge. More on our lounges page.
What is not included
- No baggage transfer. Aena states the service does not include baggage transfers. The agent accompanies you at check-in and baggage collection, but you carry your own bags.
- No queue priority at passport control or customs. Aena excludes preferential access to customs and immigration checks. The agent goes through the same queue with you.
- No vehicle. The service ends with assistance at your onward transport; the transport itself is not included.
- No private security channel or airside car. Those belong to Aena's Premium Service, which Aena does not sell at Málaga.
- No exemption from security rules or timings. Aena's rules say priority access does not exempt you from the security regulations or from going to security in good time.
Málaga's shops, restaurants and the VIP lounge are past security. Aena does not publish which of them are also past passport control, which is the gate most UK and other non-Schengen passengers go through. If you are flying outside the Schengen area, use the lounge before you join the passport queue, and once your gate shows on the screens, go to it, which is Aena's own advice at this airport.
Price
Aena's VIP shop listed Meet & Assist at Málaga, when we checked on 9 October 2026, at:
- Adults: from EUR 149.45
- Unaccompanied minor: from EUR 186.81
Aena's rules explain the second figure: the service for unaccompanied minors under 18 carries a 25% increase, and you must say during the purchase that the traveller is an unaccompanied minor. It does not replace your airline's own unaccompanied-minor arrangements, so check those with the airline as well.
Aena's conditions say prices depend on the number of people using the service together, but the Málaga shop page shows only the adult and unaccompanied-minor prices. For two or more people, see the price in the shop before you commit. Confirm all prices on Aena's VIP shop.
How booking works
- Request at least 72 hours before your flight on Aena's VIP shop, giving the date and time you need the service. Aena's conditions require the 72 hours.
- Give the details Aena asks for: name, surname, e-mail, phone, date and time of the service, airport, terminal and your flight. Without them the purchase cannot go ahead.
- No charge at the request stage. Aena checks availability. If the service is available, you are charged and receive a confirmation e-mail with a sale ID and QR code. If not, you receive an e-mail saying so.
- Wait for the phone call. Aena's agents contact you to agree the meeting point, date and time, and where the service ends. Aena publishes no fixed meeting point at Málaga, so do not plan around a location until they have called.
The Málaga service number is (+34) 722 860 824, 09:00 to 17:00. For shop and payment questions, Aena VIP Services is on (+34) 91 321 10 00 or [email protected].
Validity, cancellation, withdrawal and changes
These are Aena's published terms, checked on 9 October 2026:
- Validity: six months from the date of purchase, usable from the moment of purchase.
- Personal and non-transferable: the booking cannot pass to another person or another airport, and resale is prohibited.
- Cancellation: the minimum cancellation time is 24 hours. If you cancel within the 24 hours before the service, it is treated as provided and no refund is made.
- No changes: Aena's conditions state that the confirmed purchase cannot be changed, and that the booking is valid only for the date, price, VIP lounge, terminal and airport agreed. Aena publishes no amendment procedure.
- Flight delay: if a delay to your scheduled flight moves the service time, you must tell Aena at least 1 hour in advance. Note that the service phone line is staffed 09:00 to 17:00.
Withdrawal is a different right from cancellation. Aena's conditions give 14 calendar days to withdraw from the purchase, but only while you have neither used nor booked the service. Refunds go back to the original payment method. Aena provides a model withdrawal form addressed to [email protected]; using it is optional, and a clear written statement is enough. Once the airport has called you and agreed a date, the service is booked and the 24-hour cancellation rule is what applies.
Missed flights. Aena is not liable for missed flights where you did not reach the airport in time, or for reasons unrelated to the service, and the charge is then not refundable.
On the day
- Be at the meeting point on time. Aena's rules allow 15 minutes. If you are later than that and have not warned the team, you lose the service and the money.
- Bring the QR code and a boarding pass for each person. You show both to the Meet & Assist staff at the meeting point.
- Groups travel as one. A purchase for two or more people is a single joint service. Everyone must be at the meeting point on time; anyone more than 15 minutes late loses their access.
- Arriving at Málaga: the agent meets you at the gate, in the arrivals area or at an agreed Meet & Assist point, showing your name on a tablet. If you cannot see the agent, phone the service rather than walking on: continuing without meeting the agent or phoning counts as a no-show, and the booking may be cancelled at full cost.
- Duration: generally up to three hours. Aena's rules allow an extension only in occasional cases of unexpected flight delays and only if Meet & Assist staff are available, so do not count on it.
- End point: the service ends at the point agreed in advance, such as the boarding gate, the arrivals area or the VIP lounge.
Aena may also refuse the service for reasons of organisation or capacity. That is one more reason to book well ahead of the 72-hour minimum.
Meet & Assist is not the free PRM assistance
If your reason for wanting help is a disability, reduced mobility, advanced age or any condition that needs special attention, you are entitled to free assistance under Regulation (EC) 1107/2006. Ask for it at least 48 hours before your flight, usually through your airline. It is delivered from published meeting points and does not depend on buying anything.
Meet & Assist is different: it costs money, needs 72 hours' notice, is limited to about three hours and is available to anyone. A disabled or older passenger does not need to buy it to get help. See our special assistance page for how the free service works at Málaga.
Compared with a tour operator rep, a taxi or a transfer
If you are on a package holiday, the person who meets you in the arrivals area is usually your tour operator's representative, part of your holiday price and nothing to do with Aena's Meet & Assist. A taxi or private transfer moves you from the airport; Meet & Assist moves you through the airport and hands you over at your transport, which you arrange and pay for separately.
If all you want is a shorter security queue and a seat with a drink, Aena's Fast Lane (EUR 11.10) and the VIP lounge (EUR 48.00 per adult), both checked on 9 October 2026, cost much less together than Meet & Assist.
Meet & Assist does not change your rights if your flight is delayed or cancelled: those are owed by your airline, and Aena cannot rebook you. Aena is not liable for a missed flight, as explained above.
