Málaga Airport lounges: what is open, where it is and how to get in
Aena, the airport operator, lists two VIP lounges at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, but only one is open: the VIP Lounge Costa del Sol, on Floor 2 in the boarding area, after security. The other, VIP Lounge Relax & Go, is marked by Aena as temporarily closed. This page covers where the open lounge is, its hours and prices, who gets in free, the rules that catch people out, and an important caveat for passengers on non-Schengen flights. We are an independent guide; Aena runs the lounge and sets its terms.

Which lounges are open at Málaga Airport
Aena lists two lounges at Málaga, both run by Aena itself:
- VIP Lounge Costa del Sol: open. Floor 2, boarding area, after security. Aena's commerce site sells it as "Málaga - Costa del Sol VIP Lounge", and Priority Pass lists the same room as "Sala VIP T3".
- VIP Lounge Relax & Go: temporarily closed. Aena placed it on Floor 1 in the non-Schengen boarding area. Aena says online sale is unavailable. Do not plan on it.
Aena lists no airline-operated lounge and no third-party lounge at Málaga. There is no arrivals lounge: Aena's lounges serve departing passengers only.
"T3" in the names is a zone label. Málaga is one connected passenger terminal; T1, T2 and T3 are historic building names that survive on signs and in Aena's product names.
Where the Costa del Sol lounge is
Aena places the lounge on Floor 2, in the boarding area, which is airside: you reach it after the security checkpoint on Floor 1. Aena does not name the nearest pier or gate. Priority Pass describes it as near Gate D, reached by stairs or lift; that is the programme's description, so follow the airport signs for the VIP lounge (Sala VIP) once you are through security.
Register at the welcome desk on arrival. Aena runs a preferential desk for customers with a business boarding pass and for those who bought access on the Aena website or app. The lounge telephone is (+34) 952 048 854.
Opening hours
Aena publishes 04:00 to 00:00 for the Costa del Sol lounge (checked 9 October 2026). The lounge programmes publish shorter hours on their own listings: Priority Pass 05:30 to 22:30 and DragonPass 05:00 to 23:00. Aena's hours are the operator's; if you depend on a programme card for a very early or late flight, check the programme's app or ask at the desk.
Entry is linked to your flight: the maximum stay is three hours immediately before your scheduled departure. Arriving earlier than that may be chargeable; Aena says to ask about charges at the welcome desk.
Prices and how to pay
Aena's VIP shop listed these prices for the Costa del Sol lounge when we checked on 9 October 2026:
- Adults and children from 11 years: EUR 48.00
- Children aged 6 to 10: EUR 22.20
- Children aged 0 to 5: free
Aena may ask for official proof of a child's age for under-11 access. Prices are set annually by Aena; confirm at checkout on Aena's VIP shop.
Where to buy. The Aena website, the Aena app, the VIP shop, or at the lounge desk. When the lounge is full, Aena's rules give priority to website and app purchasers, then to holders of a reservation confirmed by Aena.
Aena Club discount. Aena Club advertises up to 30% off depending on your plan; Aena's VIP FAQ states 20% for identified members buying in the app. Both apply to online purchases only, while online sales are active (checked 9 October 2026).
Validity. Aena's lounge rules distinguish two cases: if you give your flight date and time when you buy, the access is valid for that flight only; if you give no flight details, it is valid for three months from purchase. Either way, each access is single use.
Cancelling an unused purchase. Aena's purchase conditions give you 14 calendar days to cancel a lounge purchase you have not used, refunded to the original payment method, by writing to [email protected] (Aena provides a model form). This is separate from Aena limiting entry when the lounge is full, which does not cancel your access right.
With Fast Lane. Aena offers its Fast Lane priority security access (EUR 11.10 when checked on 9 October 2026) alongside the lounge, at its own price; there is no bundle discount. Fast Lane has its own conditions, explained on our fast-track page.
Business class, Priority Pass, DragonPass and bank cards
Aena's lounge rules admit passengers who have paid, passengers whose fare class allows access, and holders of authorised programmes or cards. Aena does not publish a list of partner airlines or schemes for Málaga.
- Business class: there is a preferential desk for business boarding passes. Whether your particular fare includes the lounge is decided by your airline, so confirm with it.
- Priority Pass: Aena's lounge page shows a Priority Pass "Highly Commended Lounge Award", and Priority Pass lists the lounge as "Sala VIP T3". Guest fees and conditions are set by your membership.
- DragonPass: DragonPass also lists the lounge.
- LoungeKey and bank cards: Aena publishes no LoungeKey or bank-card terms for Málaga. Check with your card issuer whether your membership includes access to this lounge.
The programmes' own listings differ from Aena on some points, such as hours and the free-child age (Priority Pass says under 5, DragonPass under 6). What you pay at the desk follows Aena's bands.
The rules that catch people out
- Boarding pass required. Aena: it is not possible to enter the lounges without a boarding card. You need a confirmed ticket with an assigned seat and a scheduled flight.
- Everyone registers. Every entry is registered at the welcome desk, including guests, who must show identification. If you leave and come back, show your pass again.
- Three hours maximum. Counted back from your scheduled departure.
- Capacity. Access is subject to space. Aena may limit entry for operational reasons without voiding your pass.
- Watch the screens. Aena states it is not responsible for missed flights where passengers have not followed the flight information screens.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere in the lounge.
- Pets are allowed but must stay in their travel carriers; this does not apply to guide dogs.
- Conduct. Aena publishes no dress code, but its rules forbid going shirtless, taking shoes off, putting feet on furniture and lying down on sofas.
What is inside the Costa del Sol lounge
Aena's facility list for the lounge includes: reception service, flight information, digital press, catering, gluten-free food, special diets, kosher and halal food, a rest area, a meeting room, work areas, Wi-Fi, facilities for passengers with reduced mobility, consoles and video games, a left-luggage office, television, network adapters, a prayer room, and animals allowed.
A few practical details from Aena's lounge rules: alcoholic drinks are served on request, so ask staff about the selection; a phone charger and personal-care kits can be requested at the welcome desk; and the free Wi-Fi runs on the lounge's own network, with login by Aena Club account, e-mail or social account.
The left-luggage office on the lounge's list is a facility for lounge guests. It is not the airport's public left-luggage service, which is covered on our baggage page.
Flying outside the Schengen area
Málaga's shops, restaurants and the VIP lounge are past security. Aena does not publish which of them are also past passport control, which is the gate most UK and other non-Schengen passengers go through. The lounge Aena did place in the non-Schengen boarding area, Relax & Go, is the one that is closed.
If you are flying outside the Schengen area, use the Costa del Sol lounge before you join the passport queue, and once your gate shows on the screens, go to it, which is Aena's own advice at this airport. If you are unsure, ask at the lounge welcome desk when you arrive.
Is the lounge worth it?
At EUR 48.00 for an adult (checked 9 October 2026) and a three-hour maximum, it suits passengers with a long wait, people who want a quiet seat to work, or anyone with a dietary need that Aena's list covers. If you already hold Priority Pass, DragonPass or a qualifying fare, check those first. If you only want food and a seat, compare the options on our restaurants page. On a non-Schengen flight, factor in the passport queue before deciding how long you will actually spend inside.
Travel tips
- Plan around the Costa del Sol lounge on Floor 2; Relax & Go is temporarily closed.
- Buy in the Aena app or on the website: those buyers get priority when the lounge is full.
- Log in as an Aena Club member before paying.
- Do not arrive more than three hours before departure expecting free entry; early entry may be charged.
- Bring your boarding pass and ID; guests must register too.
- On a non-Schengen flight, use the lounge before passport control and head to the gate as soon as it shows.
- Programme hours differ from Aena's; check your app if you rely on Priority Pass or DragonPass for an early flight.
